The Importance of Communication
Have you ever really thought about how not communicating properly can affect your personal and work life? Often, we are not communicating as we should and we don't even notice it. Sometimes a simple trait like good communication can be the factor or someone's success or failure. Something I personally live by is "If they are asking several follow up questions then you are not clear enough." I have found this to be incredibly helpful throughout my life. In the article "The 7 Benefits of Effective Communication in Personal and Professional Settings" written by the CLIMB Center discusses some of the very important reasons as to why you should communicate.
1. Building trust: Good communication builds trust as it shows whomever your ability to listen and understand.
2. Preventing or resolving problems: If you are able to communicate properly if can solve and prevent problems all at the same time.
3. Providing clarity and direction: If you can communicate effectively you are able to clear things up much easier. Whom ever will be able to understand things exactly as they are such as tasks.
4. Creates better relationships: Great communication easily improves all of your relationships. Offering clear advice help people feel seen and heard.
5. Increases engagement: If you are confident in your communication, you will find it much easier to engage with others.
6. Improves productivity: If your employees understand their roles better then they will focus more on what is expected of them.
7. Promotes team building: If you are good at communicating you will find people will rely on you. This can also go vice versa.
I am sure you have concluded from reading above that communication is very important and is no simple task. To achieve effective communication you need to work hard to improve your own self. It will take time and motivation. Ask yourself everyday "Was there something I probably should have elaborated more on?" also, "Do I have good relationships with others?" Something else to ask yourself would be "Do people trust me?" If any of yours answers to these questions would prove you are not a good communicator then any day is a great day to start to improve yourself.

ReplyDeleteThe importance of communication is well explained in your post. It's so true that communication is a fundamental part of our personal and professional lives, and it's easy to overlook the impact that poor communication can have on our relationships, productivity, and success. I really appreciate the seven benefits you outlined, and how they demonstrate the many ways in which effective communication can make a difference in our lives. I was inspired by your post to reflect on how effective my communication skills are at the moment. I think your message that effective communication takes time, effort, and self-reflection is an important reminder that we all have room for improvement when it comes to our communication skills.
Communication is extremely important and I think you described it perfectly. Communication can definitely make or brake relationships. As a sender in communication you should always consider how your receiver will perceive your message. The receiver in all communication should be considered above all. Even if you know what you are trying to say the way you say it may not translate the same way to the receiver. With out communication skills we are alone with our ideas.
